It's a Great Day for Hockey by Mike Cowan and Pete Johnson
"It's a Great Day for Hockey: A Tribute to Coach Bob Johnson From His Former Players" features testimonials to Johnson's influence from more than 50 former players and friends. Stories ranging from recruiting trips to off-ice dealings make for a fun and interesting look into Bob Johnson's life. The sources of the story range from the backup goaltender to All-Americans. Johnson won three NCAA championships in his 16-year tenure at the UW. He left in 1982 to coach the NHL's Calgary Flames, then won a Stanley Cup with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1991. Later in 1991 he passed away due to brain cancer. His personality and love for hockey lives on with the stories.
